Mostly commenting to bookmark the thread. Thinking about picking up a fish this summer. I’m 6’3, 240 lbs with about average paddling abilities- I’d like to go as short as possible while still being able to catch waves. These look like the ticket.

BigTurbo, I'd like you to meet Todd. He likes longboarding and spends a lot of time on the nose.
Todd, this is BigTurbo. I believe he is a vintage car enthusiast who likes going fast.
I brought you two together to discuss This-

I’ve got a Zippi, everyone is right his boards pack a bunch of foam
I went 6’4”, figuring I would err on the side of too much foam rather than too little. Doesn’t bother me and I can still ride it even as I get into my 60s. Glad to hear Mike is still shaping them, a great design, super fun

Had a Zipppi, absolutely loved it. Picked it up through Mike used, real nice guy. It was 5’8 x 21 5/8 x 2 7/8. Diamond tail with a bonzer bottom.
Sold it when I moved moved briefly to NH, cause it felt like a little to much foam for me in the salt. Was perfect on the Lakes, would’ve kept it if I knew I was coming back.

Michael Zippi is a fuckin’ LEGEND. I had a 5’10” and a 5’8” that I rode into the ground (the 5’10” went on an Amtrak trip out East to a Jamboarder a couple years back- hopefully she’s still getting some action.)

i found ‘em a blast equally in punchy barrelling waves and open faced points alike. If you get a chance to go by the Zippi compound in Redondo it’s a trip. Dude makes amazing surfboards in the shop behind where he makes kitcars which is behind his hypnotherapy studio... always meant to go under hypnosis with him to see if he could help me end my barrel dodging instincts...
