Hi folks,

Looking to buy my first glider. Looking to pay ~1000, but sure wouldn't mind if it was a bit cheaper. Based in LA, happy to drive up/down the coast to get my hands on one. I originally was looking to get a beat up no-name glider I found on Craigslist just to see if I liked it, until I read interviews with a couple shapers who said something along the lines of:
I ride everything I build. I know a lot of guys are building them now – yet some of them ride only shortboards. That just doesn’t make sense to me. If you are building 11 footers, you gotta know how to ride them.
Figured it'd be a better idea to get a well-made glider, and sell it if it ends up not being what I wanted. I have no problems with the board being banged up, so long as it's watertight.

From what I can tell, I should be looking for boards from the following shapers:
Bob Mitsven
Josh Hall
Ryan Burch
Marc Andreini
Tyler Warren
Greg Liddle
Tom Wegener

I'm sure I missed out on a lot more lesser known shapers, so I'd appreciate any heads up on who else to look out for! Didn't include Skip Frye since I figure those would be way out of my price range :)

Over 1000 but I’ve seen it, it’s clean.
How do those navitimers go compared to e.g. a Chris Craft or Eagle? I have found even less info about them online than I have about other gliders

This is coming from an old guy with a bad back, but after owning and riding several gliders I’d look for an eps board. Lighter in a big board is better in my opinion both in and out of the water.
Just about any of the manufacturer’s listed would make such a glider.
