How was Rincon?? Love that place...what a vibe there... Awesome!
Currently in sunny Melbourne Florida, looking at a 3 ft swell with offshore winds all weekend, water temp in the 70s, air temp a bit higher, meeting a few jammers...stokeddd!
Went there Feb 2012. Not a fan. Not much to compare it too other then Nosara and tamarindo. Had trouble renting a board and ended up with a 9' soft top with only a side bite. Nice waves but unfriendly vibe and just kinda dirty when I went.. Hassel to get to as well.. Sorry just my $.02
Heading to Philippines for Single and Unattached in La Union.
Update on Ricon ,PR
as usual, it delivers!!
My 3 kids really enjoyed it very much.
Dad, people are kind here!!!
That sums it up. Enough of the BS we see around here in RI, with localism and pseudomachos
Everyone there was nice, even the locals who came and surf Marias when it was Head and Oh high
water is warm, air is warm, people are cool.
I used the same exact formula that always work for me.
Flight from Ct to Aguadilla, rent a car if you can with Charlies
Stay at Punta Taino guess house, super clean, cheap and convenient.
If you are with family, Marias all the time.
If you are on a mission to get the best waves, try Domes, Surfers beach, Hobos, etc
From fancy sushi and Thai, where we spend on average $150 for a dinner of 5
To the best place around, pizzeria brothers, across the plaza in downtown Rincon
where we paid $ 28 for a full dinner included pizza, sodas , melted ice creamand a couple of beers
Best of the trip?
I was in domes, and a guy came up to me to sell me Coquito
How much? I asked
well, that's a lot for a drink on the beach, but anyway, give me one
and it was $10 for the bottle
I spend the rest of the afternoon taking pictures of my kids surfing, and slowly sipping that
pistachio flavor liquor that was worth it $1 M
I may post some pics of the waves later
Looking forward to seeing your photos. Thanks for posting up the info about places to stay, eat and car rentals. Have not been down there in more then 40 years. I sure a few things have changed just a bit in the time.
