Where to find older surf films, ex. Hot Generation (1967)?

Hey guys, I'm doing a little winter 'study' in style and wondered if anyone knows where you can watch the 1967 aussie surf film The Hot Generation by Witzig. Also looking for any resources for '60s-70s surf films? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I see Witzig has DVDs for sale from Australia but it's beyond my budget, plus I don't have a DVD player.

Surf film Archive is an awesome project. That said, 3 of the best movies that offer a great look at the transition era.. Hot Generation, Evolution and Sea of Joy are not streamed anywhere to the best of my knowledge, you'll have to buy the DVD. Well worth it is my take, you'll not get a better feel for 1967-1971 then with those classics.

I love the Witzig trilogy. Another great one with a similar cast of Aussies is Fantastic Plastic Machine - you get McTavish, Young etc plus the Windansea team which included Skip Frye and Micky Munoz at the time.

I really do like owning the DVDs (VHS when necessary) but some are so expensive so I get it.

some Ive watched on youtube for free this past weekend are :

Free Ride from 1977. look up Free Ride surf film

Crystal Voyager (Greenough centric) so dang good.

-Both of them are currently on youtube in their entirety, but may not be up forever

Haywire,
Funny you mention this;
Free Ride from 1977
I had been looking for that movie for decades and recently stumbled on it on Youtube. Epic water shots from "back in the day".

I do. I bought it from this website that looks kinda janky but they definitely sent me the DVD and it plays. More like a VHS play though, no Home Screen/options, the movie just starts rolling.

Just did a quick search and Chris Bystrom’s site also sells a DVD of FPM and it looks slightly more official.
