Bird’s Surf Shed in SD has a couple of Hobie PE models. 9’6 and 9’8 at very good prices.
Thanks for your message, Birds looks like a great place for an event, I'll get over there someday and have a look - I've currently got a 9'6" Model T, so looking for a shorter board this time at 9'0". Will email Birds anyway, as he could be a good contact in finding a 9'0" size. Many thanks for looking out for me - much appreciated.
I get it. I've owned 4 of the modern Hobie Phil shapes and 1 P.E. Honolulu. Pics below are the first Hobie i bought about 10 years ago. 9'6" dumpster find.
Here is link with shots of the Honolulu
Great Pics, very inspiring...thank you for sharing the Honolulu link too. Amazing to find a PE in a dumpster! Let me know if you hear of a 9'0" for sale. Happy for a few scuffs and repaired dings as long as it is watertight. In fact I would prefer a used board, rather than a wall hanger! Many thanks.
I genuinely look forward to the moment this happens and you score this board.
It will come to you the moment you are focused on something else.
Thanks for all your good vibes and everyone on Jamboards for all of your encouragement - will keep searching and let you all know when it happens.
And have absolutely no money to justify buying it...but you buy it anyway
I found a 9'0" Phil Edwards model shaped and signed by Phil on the wall at this pop-up surf shop called The Board Source in Carlsbad, CA. The employee said the owner wants to sell it, he also said it has never been surfed. You should get in touch with them. Be aware it is run by guys who seem like businessmen more than surfers.
Think the Board Source is a solid gig... A few guys on here have been happy with their offer.
This could be the one!
Arrh, yeah, my wife just raises her eyebrows - but why wait for Christmas, for a new toy when you're all grown up!
