The Allure of Hulls?

Hey everyone, I have a simple question - What do you guys like so much about your hull surfboards?

My quiver consists of logs, eggs, fishes, and a glider but I have yet to ride a hull. It seems like they need a really good, lined up wave and that they don't turn so well. I assume they must feel incredible by how everyone on here seems to love them and would love it if one of you can try and describe the feeling.

Pardon my ignorance on the topic. I am not challenging anyone and, rather, would just love to hear more about them from you all. Thanks in advance!

A guy was surfing my local reef on a long hull with low rocker and really bladed rails and he couldn’t bottom turn it for sh$t… just slipped out all the time.
Made me think… I don’t think hulls are for me.

Thank you! I’ll read through the forums. I’ve watched a ton of videos of people surfing hulls and nothing ever really stood out enough to make me go “wow I get it!” That being said I have to think it’s more of a feeling thing. I’ll do some reading but may report back with some questions

I’ve seen that before as well but when someone is surfing it well it looks fun… kinda. Idk every wave that looks good for a hull I rather bring out a fish in I feel like.
