Last Monday night at last light/last wave a decent size grey dorsal fin popped up about 6 feet away from me just cruising. I went thru the mental checklist (not a seal, not a turtle, vertical tail, not a dolphin, not a brown/black color) and saw that the rear fin was about 3-4 feet away from the dorsal. I figured it was a big gray reef shark out cruising for dinner so decided to warn the other surfers and paddle in. Since it was dark they all decided to head in (we didn't warn the guy on the SUP :D), you could have water-ski'd behind my wife's board. We let a few moonlight kayakers know but didn't make a big deal out of it.

Turns out- I was right, but I think they got the size a little longer than I thought.
