I love Craigslist and most deals, especially with surfboards, go pretty smoothly, but I've had more than my share of "interesting" transactions (the vintage audio market can bring out some unique dudes). I don't think you made a mistake with the Japanese guy, foreign money transfers=sketch (worth a few weird calls from Japanese pervs IMHO). Extra caution in the Vacation Rentals section is seriously advised as I was once duped out of $2000.00 on a nonexistent rental... try explaining that to the misses. We need a Craigslist Gone Bad thread.
