Finally, ride report on my new MiniMax Snub nose. So, three days in everything from junky wind slop to nice 3+ lined up punchy surf...I am 185 lbs, at 5'11+ and surf 3-5 days a week---- ordered: Fowler MiniMax 6'9, 23 3/8, 3 1/8 quad snub nose---Bruce did the rest....he put some secret sauce in the form of "V" and concave, lower entry rocker for my slower point waves. Super fast board in all conditions; really drives the line and gets maximum speed quickly, at 6'9 I can turn off the tail and snap the lip, roll off the top and maintain momentum, cuts back with ease and purpose or trim out to make sections if needed. Really fun board to ride--paddles like a 7'6, Simmons style trim but looser due to the "V" in the tail by a long shot. I think Bruce has a winner here for sure.... Mods for Gen. II? Thin out the nose a bit so not so much surface area up front giving the board better push into waves and foil the rails just a bit to take out some overall volume and bite into wave faces a bit more while sitting into the water/wave and connecting (those are just my personal mods, Bruce made this one exactly the way I asked him to). My next one will be: 6'10, 23, 3 quad with those mods and MAGIC! I really like this board and will give it a good going over. Couch email me if you want some pics of the board! (use your real email).
