A winter hang in SoCal may be on the books this year, month to maybe two or three. Don't mind driving to the surf when my gills need soaking with the other elders, just looking for a mellow hang out of the mix. Wife is thinking Palm Desert, even though we are not golfers, as an affordable possibility, whereas I'm thinking closer to the beach.

    Ideas?

whats your rental budget? inland OC or SD might be nicer if you guys don't golf and quicker access to the beaches of course. Thats a good couple of hours to get to the playa and watch out for my dad and his contemporaries on the road in Bermuda Dunes and surrounding areas. On the other hand you will feel young out there.

For that money, there are places around Malibu that you can rent. This place is just beautiful. Try Google.

Look into Ventura County... you'll score some point setups for NW swells, and it should be a bit more affordable than the Malibu area. Ojai is up in the hills and beautiful, and just a 20-minute drive to Ventura point... a bit longer to Rincon.

Thanks, its between Dominical and Uvita in Costa Rica, Escaleras area. we have some pounding beach breaks and some points, also some mellower stuff in the Uvita area. plants have grown a lot since this vid...and not too far to Pavones or a day or two trip
