Thought I'd share this one. I always wanted to skate a full pipe... I finally made it happen last week! (Actually, I made it happen twice in the same day -- another nearby park has a 16' concrete one so I hit both of them.) This one was a tight 12' and really fun. Not quite Baldy Pipe but it will have to do.

Chilly!!!!! A full pipe was always on my list. When I won the Downhill Slalom at FSU in '76, 2 of the other guys told me that I was "out of my mind". Back home when the "bowl" opened out on 520 in Cocoa (1976-7 ?), , , , my buddy and I were having All Kinds of Fun but, , , , the manager pulled us off and told us not to do "that stuff" anymore because we were giving the kids, , , , "Bad ideas". LOL

Well...I don't have anything near that cool to talk about!

But I did want to come back and say I am really liking the Soulboardiy deck more and more. It's like it does what I want, when I want and feels like a scalpel. I can stay planted or slide even my sticky wheels on sticky asphalt. Still like all my other surf skate decks but like this one plus Yow trucks a whole lot!

Ha ha, that is awesome. How dare you do "that stuff". Very satisfying finally getting into a full pipe. No intention of stopping anytime soon, but there are only a few more things on my list. Still looking for a good empty pool to skate!!! If anyone has one, let me know.:p

Jimmy and I started by dropping down the bowl ramp together a couple times. Then we started going down into the bowl and the "run" by holding on the front guys hips. And then got to the point where we were getting "air" with our front wheels. That was it. I can't say if anybody there had even tried to get full air. Back in the mid-70s things were still pretty mundane. We generally only wore shoes when it was a "rougher" asphalt. Never ever wore gloves, did not need them; we did all of our turns and slides without touching the ground.
