I surfed a lot with Geoff when I lived up in Huntington Beach. Good guy!

So after falling in with a bad crowd (known as jb) I began thinking about shaping my 1st board. Well I posted something about 2 months ago when I ordered the US blank, and now the finished board has just come back from the glasser. Stoked to share it. It's based on the 7'6 Clandestino I own and love. Pulled dims and shaped my own personal 8'6 version (wife snapped a few photos before I waxed it).

When I started pulling dims, I set a goal for myself: to try and match the refined design elements of Manny's impeccable original as much as possible - optimistic suicide. I fell short of course, but I still ended up with a board I'm excited to ride, and pretty proud of. Gonna keep trying!

IT'S REALLY REWARDING to make a surfboard with your own hands then go out and ride it. Hope you have an absolute blast on her and can't wait to see your next one!
