Also saw him in Tamarindo where he hangs out at Witch's Rock Surf Camp. Believe he sometimes shapes down there. Had a beer with him....really nice and personable guy.

Robert is a good shaper no doubt about it. He used to shape with Rich Harbour before starting his own shop. He sold me my 9'10" 3 stringer Jacobs back in Nov 1966. He is definitely a nice person. Hap Jacobs still held him in high regards many years after he closed up his shop.

A really fun, user input sensitive board. Hard fades off the bottom with that rolled up-turned tail/wide base flex fin combo were incredibly satisfying.
Was hoping for mention of this board in here.

I have a RA-shaped 5'4 single fin fish from 1971 that was meant as a kneeboard - it's been a minute since I last surfed it, but I remember it as fast and loose, quite a unique board. Not sure I've surfed anything like it before.
