“Lipped the surfers podcast” from down this way is cool, more WSL focussed but they have interesting guests like Maurice Cole & Nick Carroll

The Surf Mastery podcast ep.31 with Taylor Knox is absolute gold. He's got a really good backstory, and at 17:00, maybe 17:12 since those numbers add up to 11, he gets into detail the feeling and description of what goes into a really powerful turn. Killer stuff.
Even more killer is his grasp of Meditation in every facet from it's simplicity to it's benefits and how he has applied it to surfing and directly credits it to why he is not only surfing better than ever now, but most importantly enjoying more too.

Thanks for a really rad way to sped an hour and 20.

Pods are, IMO, one of the bright spots of the "device" life. That current adage "there's an app for that" can be applied to pods in a much more enriching manner.

Great conversationalist with broad knowledge about music, literature, cinema, art, pop culture and especially comedy. I've been turned on to more new musical artists and comedians because of this guy. Check out some of my favorite talks with:

John Hammond, Kim Deal, Mark Mothersbaugh, Iggy Pop, Keith Richards, Taj Mahal, Paul Thomas Anderson, Norman Lear , Martin Landau, Terry Gross, Randy Newman, Jennifer Lawerece, Kim Gordon, josh Homme, Wm Friedkin, Peter Fonda, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ali Wong, Neil Young, Robin Williams, Walter Hill, Nick Nolte, Louis CK, Garry Shandling, Wayne Cramerr, Herb Alpert, Roger Waters, J Mascis and famously, Barack Obama.

I could give two shits about competitive surfing but that interview with Knox is a good one in that you get to hear what drives and make's a hard working competitive athlete tick.
The interviewer had good questions and Knox was pretty good at explaining some things that would otherwise be tough to describe.

    Good stuff. Good thread. Thanks!

David Scales mediating the throw down between Chaz Smith and that guy from Stab (I think) was the surfer version of Orange County Housewives; unfortunate and sad, and ironically entertaining. Surf Splendor, Grit, and Spit should serve up something somewhere that surfers will like. Some is industry, some is local, some is personal. Having Parmenter, Pyzel, Martz, Warshaw, etc... mean you get to listen to some really knowledgeable people with a huge variety of opinions and backgrounds.

Surf Simply is my favorite but can go months without posting- when they do, its worth it.

Ain't That Swell (with Jed & Vaughn) is the most interesting dose of surf chatter we've come across. Bunch of ripping aussie mongrels covering everything from dark corners of surfing past, to the ethical dilemmas of its present future. Highly anticipated in our household. Up the swellians!
