excuse my ignorance, I'm not that familiar with Pendo'd boards...

I was operating under the assumption that the modification was done as like a wax alternative, and usually to save delam'ed boards, but it also adds flex and changes the ride characteristics?

There’s a couple things Steve pendarvis aka pendo does to boards. On the boards he shapes himself he will carve deep divots per say on the deck then glasses over those divots and back fills with the black decking similar to a pool noodle foam making the deck flush. He will do this to other boards whether they’re rehab case like a board that has deck delam and you don’t want the weight of that repair or on boards that just want the flex. The flex occurs because of the thinner areas of the board. Flex occurs during a heavy turn the board kind of twists and flexes a little bit and releases out of the turn. If you had no idea what his work was about you’d think it was just a crappy tail pad. But that’s half the fun right… iykyk

Steve also hand shapes every board, paints and glasses all his boards and grew up with quite the cohort of shapers in ocean beach/ Point Loma
