Juuuuust kidding...

However, on a recent twin fin binge --- a 6'4 Steve Brom to be specific... I was worried I was losing my taste for single fin hulls.

Curious if others have felt the same. Or how long you've wandered off the dark and lonely hull path. Or maybe... just what you rotate in and out of the active quiver?

Glad to report all is well and I have not lost my obsession with hulls -- and have recharged my excitement with this new to me 6'9 Liddle "Reef Smoothie" which has been working great so far!

I surfed my CJ Neslon 7'0 Music with quads today and I must admit having multiple fins and nose-rocker was like a breath of fresh air

I surf it all but have a soft spot in my heart for hulls and keep a mini hull quiver. That being said, they aren’t every day riders for me, especially not here in the Outer Banks where I’ve been working for a couple years. A lot of times here, the high performance thruster is the call. I’ve liked riding Manny’s boards to get that shucking and jiving hull sensation. Super functional rides that work in a variety of conditions and offer a unique feeling.

Rode hulls for admittedly too long over the last decade+. Been on a year long kick to go shorter and more performancy despite never learning to properly shralp. My actual surfing skills have demonstrably improved on twins and quads since both demand more maneuvering in the pocket. However nothing Ive ridden before or since gives the bottom turn down the line swoop feel of a good hull. The curves on a hull are also alarmingly...freudian...

My surfing has absolutely suffered due to my hull infection. 9 out of 10 times a hull is the wrong choice for me to paddle out... but it's helped me with my patience-- I don't need a ton of waves anymore to get that post surf high... just one good wave -- or even a good bottom turn and I'm happy.

Hulls will absolutely ruin your surfing... if you're curious, don't bother. Also... let me know if you've got any hulls for sale.

Nailed it. Especially the patience.
