Wife and I are moving and I’m looking to build a dedicated shop for shaping and woodworking. Planning a road trip from Virginia up to Hebron Connecticut to look at some building plans before making my decision on the shop.

Anyone up in the NE along that route that could recommend a cool - off the beaten path, ocean town to stay in??

Looking to break up the trip and enjoy what the country has to offer. Never surfed up there so would bring a board and hope to find something!

Thanks jammers

I’m sorry to say I’m not sure you will find that in CT. Hopefully somebody will be able to offer you better advice then me. Regardless enjoy your trip. :)
Thanks ShadyDave.

Open to anything enroute that’s worth the stop!
It is coming into summer and the east coast can suffer some long flat spells.
But from western Rhode Island, outer cape cod, southern new Hampshire all have their days and spots .
Surf reports will keep you clued in

Southern Maine is nice, particularly the Ogunquit and Wells area. If you decide to go, shoot me a message, and I can recommend some places.

take New London Ferry to Montauk.
Awesome thanks Cuda. I’ll look into that.

As much as I’d love to catch surf it’s really just a road trip to a part of the country we have never been. It’s always best to find those smaller towns off the beaten path that aren’t tainted by tourism etc…

You won’t find that in Montauk! (As a kind warning)

I would suggest VT, pretty much the entire state will satisfy what you are in search of. And if you need to be close to the ocean then head to Maine and search out the coast north of Portland.
