I'm a MOTE/Torren fanboy and have been slowly picking up a few of Simon's models. I figured I'd post some comparison shots and ride reports here.
From left to right:
AuGoGo - 6'1 x 19 1/2 x 2 3/4 (with fins)
Fiji - 6'2 x 19 3/4 x 2 1/2 (yellow)
2Track - 6'4 x 19 5/8 x 2 5/8
AuGoGo - I think this shape was made specifically for the Stab Electric Acid test series and a bridge toward HPSBs. It definitely feels the most like a normal shortboard. I haven't surfed it in clean waves that much yet, but seems to do well in waist to OH waves. The snaps I've done on it have been nice and tight.
Much looser than the Fiji, but without much rocker is doesn't feel "poppy" like a shortboard does when trying to do a foam climb or whatever. This is probably a poor description of what's actually happening in the water but that's my explanation of the sensations. It's a very fun board thus far. Doesn't require a lot of excess moving about. Very point and shoot.
Fiji - This is the shape Torren and MOTE are most well known for. I believe it was made as a step-up of the Tracks Twinny model.
This is the one I've surfed the most. Despite having minimal rocker, it needs waves with some curve and power to not feel dead to me. It will catch smaller waves but it doesn't feel very dynamic. In small waves it just kinda wants to plane and go straight. It's a board made for harnessing speed rather than generating it.
Super fun on a punchy wave, the Fiji is incredibly forgiving. Lots of free speed to beat sections, recover from sloppy turns, etc. I think this one is a bit too thin for me, when I get a chance to order one I'll probably go a bit longer and a bit thicker. The AuGoGo's rail still feel great at 2 3/4.
2Track - Haven't surfed this one enough yet, will update with a proper ride report. I'm hoping toward the end of this week conditions line up for it.
