Anyone have the scoop on the calvani shaped Jacobs Mike purpus model?

I think @Hodaddy81 you had one?

My mate is a pretty heavyset fellow who is a great surfer but normally rides 9’1 performance longboards by choice.

He’s just started competing again ( he used to be / is one of the best comp longboarders iver here) but he keeps getting stuffed in tiny waves by much lighter surfers on big logs.

He’s on a quest to find something that will work in 1-2 ft waves for his girth. He’s been offered a Jacobs’s purpus at a steal and wanted to know if it was worth picking up.

FWIW he has a cherry picker 9’6 thinderbolt but it’s a still too small for him in knee high waves.

Your input is appreciated!

So I still have a 9'8 Purpus. Its so heavy so its going to be an adjustment but it moves through water really fast especially in small surf. The rolled v in the tail helps with direction but its still a very heavy and big board. If he has been normally surfing small comp boards this thing is going to feel like a 60s log. Just saying. But... Hot damn is it stable on the nose.

Thanks, appreciate the reply!

That’s what I told him! He had a fair amount more “heft” than you to manouver it.

Tbh the way he noserides in tiny waves is already pretty impressive!
