On the Sam front, thoughts on the MPE p38? The mollusk website says it is Sam influenced so I’m curious the good and bad of it. I love wide point back logs and have some experience with hulls, though I’ve found too bladed out and severe roll is a liability not an asset in the everyday conditions I surf

Have to admit I take out the 8'10" MPE P-38 more than the 9'4" Andreini Magic Sam.

Elaborate plz
I have a similar pair- stock 9'4 Andreini Magic Sam (w/ 9.25" A-flex) and 8'8 P38 (w/ 9.5 PHD) and also prefer the P38 more as it paddles almost as easy but has the benefits that come with shorter length. Somehow feels like it has more volume than it appears to have.

P38 seems to have a tiny bit more roll in the belly and softer/fuller rails- especially around the tail. Andreini Sam is wide point center and seems to have more of spoon-y shape in the nose where the P38 is wide point back and not as contoured up front. I think the Magic Sam is much prettier as a shape but the P38 works really well (at least for me) and is one of my favorites now.
