Is this Solarez-able or how else to fix it?

Hey there,
I manages to fall on my SUP and pushed the fin into the board. The trailing edge got into the board and left a 1/4 to 1/3 in deep gouge in it. The board is EPS. Would be filling with epoxy Solared considered a sufficient fix? Or fill it with something else and use solarez for surface only? Or there are other ways for fixing small things?
Thanks

Maybe fill it with cabosil and some milled fiber. I would have two patches of 6 oz cloth at a minimum. Smaller one(s) down first then a larger cover patch. Sand it down then fill coat it. Sand then gloss coat. Sand with progressive grits then polish with #2 or similar. Color match if you feel froggy.

I just reread your updated comment. so you basically suggested to do proper fix. Is this kit sufficient for that repair (material-wise)?

You could probably use solar rez as a filler, but I'd definitely laminate two layers of cloth over it like JMJackFish suggested. If you don't, it'll eventually leak or pop out (or both!).

If you are at home then do it right. When I travel and don't have easy or any access to all the right equipment or ding repair people, then I use a kit like shown in the link with additional sand paper, toungue depressers, plastic surgical gloves, masking tape and a short rasp. The DingAll Sun Cure or Solarez does the job, little and small (like a nose smash, rail dingers, skeg divots. Less worry about mixing resin/catalyst in humid environments.
