Picked up a rough one in a package deal. Didn’t recognize the lam.
I recognize that lam when he was running some through the old Yater shop on Grey Ave in Santa Barbara. That is where I met him one day when he was in that shop. That had to be around 1983.Picked up a rough one in a package deal. Didn’t recognize the lam. View attachment 45802 View attachment 45803
That would concur with me. He was having my brother airbrush the big outrigger stringers on his red fins instead of adding the $ and weight on them.I recognize that lam when he was running some through the old Yater shop on Grey Ave in Santa Barbara. Yeah, Lauren Yater introduced him to me when I was enquiring about the boards that were in the showroom rack. He had been out of the public eye for a while, and we had an interesting conversation regarding both himself and Skip Frye. One thing I definitely remember was that he reeked of pot smoke and his gravelly voice. I sensed a little bit of bitterness in his conversation, but maybe I was just imagining that. That would concur with me. Renny didn't have a set up for airbrush so the all cam a couple blocks down the street to my place in the Radon Boatyard.
