Some pretty decent surf lately in these parts with Isaias on the way. Saturday had some extra size/push and water about as warm as it gets around here. Yesterday (pictured) had a little less size, presumably because NC put us in the lee a bit with the storm further south. The deciding factor was whether or not you brought your wetsuit -- a major upwelling made it shockingly cold! Quite a few guys in trunks and even spring suits paddling in after 10 minutes. A buddy of mine took some pictures of me:

My daughter managed to grad a couple of shots. Small summer surf and loving going to the beach with my kids.

Jellyfish, jellyfish, jellyfish, lighting my ass up all day, these things are out here thick, should of wore a suit. Besides that, was some really fun ones. Size dropped pretty fast through the day but was nice none the less.

Yes, jellyfish everywhere. But a suit wouldn't have helped, they just got in to everything. I even got stung on my eyelid. But today, the waves were smaller but there were a lot less jellyfish. And fun little tubes from the high tide push.

Got some nice lined up waist high waves last night in LJ, biggest it's been in weeks. Clean conditions too, the wind died off in the late afternoon. Managed to run over two college age guys on Costco softtops (both on one wave, I think that's double points?). I've never seen it that crowded before during such mediocre swell, the joys of summer surfing during a plague I guess.

After reading the above posts I'm just grateful to have crowds and not jellyfish eye... you're describing my worst nightmare.

Surf was terrible, but surfing with friends was priceless.

2 hours of fun thigh to waist lines with my kids. Combine their stoke and me getting dialed on my Phillips noserider and it’s a session I’ll remember for a long time.
Watching them smile as they make the drop and disappear behind the lip is only beat by seeing them learn to set the rail and pop off the top catching a little air on the way out of the wave.

    Maiden voyage...finally
While it feels heavy on land..
Very smooth on water..paddles and catches waves like a much longer board.
    Turns like a speedhull..loopy...
But the dreamy locked trim glide hum..down the line accelerating..very nice.
I cant wait for a bigger day..but dont look forward to trying to duck dive this..
