Interesting. Looks kinda like a round-nose MP more than a short Hot Gen...My first Hilbers shape... little beat but that doesn't bother me (aside from the unfortunate suntan on the bottom)
It is indeed a Hot Gen, although shorter than most. Signature says 6'7 but it measures in at 6'6.5". Wide and flat. Excited to throw a PHD in and see how it goes when something resembling a swell decides to show up.
Seems water-tight enough to give it a couple sessions to determine if I wanna redo these shoddy repairs, or pass it along. Stoked!

I guess the shaper, or maybe the purchaser, gets to call a shape what they like. I haven't watched Hot Generation in a while (great movie) but a full template single fin under 7' isn't what I think of when I hear that. Cool video with Randy Rarick with actual boards of the following(?) era: '68-'69.
I'm thinkin' Jim the Genius would have some insights.
