Getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on a board from Danny Hess, specifically an 11' glider in full wood. Any one have experience? I've admired the aesthetics of his boards for years but never had the chance to ride one. I remember a few of his shorter shapes changing hands here, but never heard any real feedback, especially regarding his longer shapes.

None ridden but, beautiful boards, by a very talented detail oriented craftsman. just out of curiosity, what do you figure an 11' glider will weigh?

He estimated @11'x22.5x3.25 it'll come out around 19ish lbs with reclaimed redwood.

very nice! I just spent a few minutes on his webpage. Those gliders look unreal. More Andreini than Frye bottom contours?

Still discussing, but leaning more towards a "wave harvester trim machine" in Danny's words.

I heard from more than a few people that his boards are bomb proof. You also rarely see them for sale used.

I think we went off menu with this order... more towards that fry style of board if I'm understanding it correctly.

friend has a 10' Hess glider/speedster I sessioned few years back...boards has almost zero flex..pick up a fave LB, give the deck a good pop with the flat of your hand, it vibrates throughout...on the Hess, it just went thud...rode the same way...inert, not lively
