Thanks for all the buy in gents!

Crazy contrasting color didn’t even occur to me but now that you say it I love the idea! Ha. Too late on this one. Just came in from the shed.

Cut out the messed up cloth and sanded all the edges and about 1.5” around. Attempted to color match and filled with epoxy and Q-Cell.

I’m going to let it cure overnight and through tomorrow (surfing in the AM) and will sand down flush tomorrow. I plan to sand a larger area tomorrow to 120 and then laminate with 2 x 4oz layers and then fill coat and wet sand.

Thanks again. Followed fiberglass Hawaii and it’ll be good to go for the Hawaii trip Thursday.

Removed old glass and filled, then laminated with 2 x 4oz cloth pieces and now the hot coat is curing. I’ll sand it flush and polish. Hoping it blends right in smoothly!

Color is slightly off as I used the blue resin instead of clear that gave it a different tone with the fill - being so thick I guess

Wow! You did a really nice job, especially for your first repair. Honestly, I couldn't even really tell where it was in those final pics.

And for what’s worth don’t worry about color match
use a nice contrast like bright green or blue
not joking
^ I saw a board a while back that had all the repairs done like that. Some kind of wildly different color, but usually something complementary. It looked awesome! It reminded me of a passport -- no one wants a brand new, blank passport... you want a passport filled with tons of stamps from exotic places with interesting stories behind them.
