My 10' Pocket Knife Speed Shape is just about ready and I need to select a fin. The shop suggested a 10" fin since its a 10' board. They have a really nice looking RFC Mikey DeTemple volan fin which fits the bill. They also usually have some Greenough fins. Does anybody have a take on which fin I should put on the board?

Thanks, Tom

I ride my 10’ PK speed shape with that exact RFC Detemple fin and love it - fast, stable, and trims/turns well. I’ve also tried it out with a 10” Farberow True Ames and had good luck with that too.

Without seeing it in the foam, there appears to be some similarities to some of the SOS-style boards that we've discussed on JB, so maybe the Velzy Classic/AFlex/4C could work too?

@shadydave was right.. The Velzy classic feels fast, loose and drivey in my SOS (9.5 fin in 9'0" board)

I'd try the 10" PHD Volan fin from True Ames. Or better yet, have Brad Heath at Sunrise Boardworks make you one. Brad's fins are awesome.

The Velzy is a looser alternative. I've also been eyeing the Gato Heroi flex fins but I haven't ridden one.

I’ve got a gato fin. I think it’s a c but it came with a board a few years ago and there’s no markings.

it’s a superb fin. Super lively flex but good hold on the nose too. These are the only pics I have

I grabbed the Mikey DeTemple fin just in case it's slim pickings when I pick up the board. I think I could swap it out at the shop, but if doggiefizzle has this exact fin on this exact board and likes it.....
