10’ Tyler 305 longboard surfboard. Mint green/aqua blue resin tint. Two small Tyler lams on top and bottom. Great noserider. Fin box with Tyler fin. OK shape. Several repairs, some not artfully done or color matched. No open dings – ready to surf. $500
This one is in Cerritos (east of LA). SUPER clean looking Eric Christenson board, 10'0" pintail noserider. Opaque white t/b with a single black pinline.
Next up is a Boss, the usual 10'0" size. Looks to be in good shape, but pix show wax on the deck so heelies, etc. can't be seen. If interested, I'd strongly recommend calling or emailing this guy and ask him to send along pix AFTER he's removed the wax.
Boss boards often are glassed with 2x6oz decks and sometimes have their fair share of dents. More importantly, have them send along bottom pics to make sure there aren't any stresses (the nose and tail steps often engender stress cracks, top and bottom). And always ask to make sure the base of the glass-on fin is solid and doesn't have any cracks. $550 This is somewhere in OC (not listed in ad).
If'n you're looking for a more HP, beach-breaky kinda stick and you're in the greater El Lay area, this 9'2" Jon Wegener looks extry-clean and bright, bright white. Says Hancock Park/H'wood area. Big, clear pix in the ad, too:
9'2" Jon Wegener single fin, round pin longboard surfboard. Excellent condition - no dings or repairs. I have another board that's similar to this one so I'm letting this one go. She's a thin beauty. 10" fin included. $360. 9'2" x 22 1/4" x 2 3/4"
If you're down SD way and want a 10'6" Phil-shaped Becker UFO, here's one basically brand new for $500 OBO. Wood tail block, lighter glass (6oz) so not too loggy. Phil Becker doesn't shape much (at all?) anymore, so there aren't many clean Phil-shapes around. Not THAT many, anyway. Phil Becker deck lam. You probably could start your bid at $400 and the owner would probably jump on it. Not a screamingly amazing find or anything, but a good deal.
I've heard good things about the Becker JJ Wessels model. I've never surfed one but I've seen these in person. This one's a 9'10. They're glassed 2x8+1x8 volan and they've got a nice noserider shape and rocker (flat entry, tail kick, soft rails and a slender concave). The list on these is a modest $725 (about standard for a Becker, because they're glassed in-house), but the despite the price, the quality of the lamination is good.
Seller's description is below the link and the board sounds as close to new as possible and comes with a bag and it's just $450 OBO. As always, no connection to seller, etc., etc.
This board was ridden only a handful of times and has literally NO blemishes whatsoever. It is a Pastel yellow color on the deck and rails with a pin lining of brown on the bottom surrounding a beautiful fabric inlay of browns and yellows. This board is a piece of art.
Will include a padded bag for it as well that is worth over $60! $450 OBO
Happy Sunday. Hope it's a beautiful day with firing waves whereever you may be.
Here are some very interesting boards. None are "cheap", but all are decent buys for the niche market buyer.
First up? A 9'8" Harbour Cheater II. For those who like stepdeck boards that bend (like the Cheater, the Boss, etc). these were discontinued four or five years ago and they're pretty hard to find. Not cheap at $750, but it's a clean looking candidate:
Second up today is a 10'6" Hynson HYII. Clear and volan finished, it also looks to be in very good-to-excellent shape. Dude is asking $800 but prefers to trade for guitars, a Macbook or a Vespa. Neat looking board with tailblock and two offset stringers.
