Let me explain myself, my good friend @Cuttlefish lent me the fcs swings to try in another board and as @jory mentioned the 7-oh outlier has some simmons DNA so I thought why not? The little trailer is a bit of insurance to try and stabilise the wide arse tail.

Well! After two surfs in waist to chest high waves, I can say it's a fun small wave set up. Took me 20 mins to get used to the skatey feel and slowly build more power into each turn until I could carve turns with a bit of power. Super fast, fantastic trimmer across steep and fat sections, able to carve full turns, off the tops, reos and floaters. Super fun small wave set up.

So now now I have three boards in one! The 10" parralax fin is super fun in small clean beachies for single fin feels, the twin plus one set up also a barrell of fun and the hanelias plus an 8" centre fin is awesome. All comes down to mood and the waves.

Awesome board as well.

Thanks @RockyIsland ! The 7-oh ova dimensions are more my cup of tea than the 7-oh outlier- different boards for sure but if you can only have one board in the car, the ova looks good.
quoting this one from over a year ago and 29 pages back to say: 100%.

I disliked my 7’ outlier because it felt absurdly large for its length. I just picked up a 7’ Ova and I’m very excited to put it to work. It feels properly eggy and refined, especially compared to the super-hull 7’ outlier. I feel like the 7 foot outlier was a miss, I know some jammers have liked it but I think if you’re looking for a board that feels “real”, the Ova feels a lot better under the arm. Also fits in the car…. outlier was too wide lol. I understand the idea though, I was super into it at first but after struggling to paddle out on a 7’ board cause it’s impossible to get it under pumping sets I kinda gave up on it, it felt too specific for the amount of space in my garage.

Sidebar: Anyone who had/has an ova, what fins did you put in it? I’m kinda at a loss. I know Ben has a 2+1 set with FCS but I’m skeptical to spend $70+ on a single fin that doesn’t let you screw it in… I also got no clue what quads, the Harley XLs are tempting

Maybe trouble in their "read the fine print" facility? Maybe CJ has bailed on them. If you have a look at his website its brimming with different models. Have the workers seized the means of production? Comrade!
When I had a look over the Ovas (ha ha) in a surfshop when they first came out, which is also back in this thread, I felt they were inexplicably heavier than the corresponding size (litre for litre) as an Outlier which put me off them.
If any of our Oz forum members want a 7'6" outlier in Sage that's used but not a mark on it, so maybe never been surfed, theres one at Beachbeat, Alexandra headland for $1200.
