What’s interesting is those marks are extremely uniform as if something was dragged across the board. They certainly are not random scratches.

I just ordered a 9’6 Apex and am picking it up from the shop on Saturday. I called and they had it but no idea how long it’s been on the rack. Not sure what’s going on with those scratches but I think there is a number on every ThunderBolt. Is that the batch number or an individual number of boards produced? I’m in the North Carolina so I don’t know if that batch would even be distributed to the states.

Meanwhile the 8' outlier did its thang in 1-2' clean right and left zippers this morning. Soooo fun. 10"s of fin, Baby. Who says size doesn't matter?

Ive had a 9.0 outlier
A 7.6
And 2x 7.0

I loved the 9.0 ride...but at 9.0 was impractical as an alrounder
The 7.6 i just couldnt get to catch waves on.
My 1st 7.0 was very hit n miss...i kept sliding out on take off / bottom turns.
Over n over again
Which is why i sold it...
On fat waves went.epic.
BUT
I bought another as i figured out i was just.well under finned.
I.ran a 7.5 clique and
Sml carver side bites.
KILLED The BOARD
Now ive split.keel rears as sidebites
And An 8.5 christensen tracker
This board now goes ace. Really ace.
Smooth slidey top to bottom ( horizontally) pumps...and snappy yet buttery cutbacks
Ps the matte ones grip better in gloves than the slippy gloss ones

Ahem...what can I say except that's exactly why I chronicled all my fin tweaks/combos with the 7'er throughout this thread. So that others could have data for their starting points.
Fins can absolutely make or break a board and the differences with various fins are really pronounced when riding the short but chunky 7' Outlier. Your first combo just didn't have enough fin depth in the water in turns (Yater/CJ wisdom). Great to hear you have it dialled in. I rode JaM's 7'6" and figured the 8'er would be the sweet spot for me for what I want to ride it in and so far so good. Got some fun fin combos to try once I get my mitts on my new 7'er. Just waiting for the 2 boards on consignment to be sold to finance it.

Yes the 7-0 has been a journey for me as well, still playing with different fin combos but thoroughly enjoying the ride. Look forward to seeing photos of @Cuttlefish further fin chronicles

Could you expand on this? I really like my 8’ but feel like the extra foot of rail line would be lovely for speed and glide.
Sure...im not really from a longboard background. Im certainly not an accomplished shortboarder either. I simply prefered to have less board once up n riding. It all beach break where i am..and getting 70 litrs of 9 ft out back for me is a mission.
It maybe all in my head but i feel on the smaller waves i want something more reactive in tighter turns.
The 7.0 althoigh huuge i feel does this.
