BUNK SKATEPARK LIST- Time to call out the continued build of "bunk" skateparks and pump tracks and the businesses doing this... Bad skatepark builds are a scam that has gone on for decades and continues to today. Newest twist is unusable pump tracks.

There are a slew of skatepark builders out there who join forces with local general contractors to: underbid skateboard park projects and pump tracks; then build lackluster skateparks/pump tracks; ripping of the municipalities/taxpayers; and then move on to the next county/town to continue the scam.

This scam results in local skaters left speechless and respond by not using the skateparks and/or pump tracks. City leaders are left confused as to why budget money was wasted and their good faith efforts as public servants resulted in a dud of a public asset.

So others can be aware: Be proactive and list any current or future skatepark builds and/or pump track builds that are questionable and list any past skateparks and pump tracks that are, as thrasher mag used to call them, "Certified Piece Of Suck".... hopefully local skater advocates and like minded people can step up and demand to be part of every step of the way in the building of skateparks and/or pump tracks or the replacement of bunk skateparks/pump tracks.

For example fill in this:

Name of Skatepark/Pump Track:
Location:
Company:
Year built or to be built:
Reason Sucks:
Reconciliation:
Notes/Contact Point/Photos/etc:

Name of Skatepark/Pump Track: Cushing Skateboard Park
Location: Englewood, Colorado
Company: American Ramp Company
Year built or to be built: 2022
Reason Sucks: Lacks flow. New metal mini-halfpipe (not built to specs as promised) surface has bubbles. Fun for a minute. Money Waster
Reconciliation: Repair bubbled surface of metal halfpipe. Construct opposing banked wall in front of parking lot to allow for some form of continuous flow in the park.
Notes/Contact Point/Photos/etc:
Time for the local residents in Englewood to advocate for themselves and step up to American Ramp Company to have them fix the metal halfpipe and pour some banks to make the skatepark flow as promised. City of Englewood is cool but did not get what was promised to the skateboard community and city by the GC and skatepark builder. This skatepark was an upgrade from a 1990's metal skatepark on a basketball court. The city could have just torn down the skatepark and walked away but instead funded a concrete park that included a replica of a very skateable and enjoyed metal mini-ramp. Metro-Denver skaters united around a quality skatepark design but unfortunately American Ramp Company did not replicate the ramp exactly as promised and during the build of the concrete, ignored an apparent design flaw of no flow to the skatepark.
