Riding HotGen for years and then testing local bud’s Vaq, doubleEnder, McVee all felt bland, slow, and too friendly..
Hilbers spice can kind of ruin you in that matter it’s almost annoying.

Sounds like you’re ready to climb out of the one dimensional rabbit hole :p
I second the difference between the Vaquero and Hilbers’s, completely different categories.

So who’s willing to start a thread throwing Skip into the Fryeing pan?
I don’t think anyone is throwing Marc into the frying pan, just merely pointing out that there is no magic board for everyone.
As far as Skip goes, he’s a legendary shaper, but his boards aren’t magic for everyone either. I’ve had two and had difficulty riding them so passed them on.

spot on. I'm relieved this did not turn into a Marc roast - absolutely never the intention. By all means - I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the man, his craft, and his boards.
