Thank you so much Jammers. I really appreciate all your input. I think I will get the extra boxes since I do like to mess around with different fin settings @messierishome. I do love the smooth glide feeling of a single @DanSan, @R1H, and @Ricksurfin. I've been told Bruce's boards are really fun with the fin pushed all the way up @jtsfla.

I have a Knee Machine from Bruce that is 5'8' x 22 3/4 x 2 1/2 with the fin placed in the middle. Its so skatey and fast as a single with two small side bites. I wonder if the differences will be significant between a 7'9" and 8'0" V8 for a guy my size @messierishome and @DanSan.

Again, thank you for your support.

Kyle

Can you post some photos of the Knee Machine?

That knee machine looks fun. I haven't taken out my 6'0" V8 out much, but I'm very curious what Bruce has done differently there.

Too early to say, as I've only ridden it a few times and I still need to play with fin placement. I've been riding a 9" 4A in the middle of the box and it leans a little too much lol. Next time I take it out I'm gonna move it back a little and hope that makes it more controllable because I'm struggling to control it in steeper waves. It shows promise though, and would probably be easier to learn if I wasn't in dumpy beach breaks.

wow, i'm suddenly interested in knee boarding
From my understanding, the Knee Machine is actually a shortboard. Its really fast and skatey. I’ve enjoyed surfing it the past month. Its definitely a conversation started for sure. Surfers stop me often to ask about the board.

My 8' V8 was hands down the fastest board I've ever surfed and worked in anything but hollow waves.

I'm 6'2 and weighed around 210 when I ordered my custom.

That wide tail never spun out and would get you in super early and easy, but the blunt and wide nose would soemetimes catch on a reentry in hollow waves

The veebottom needs to constantly be surfed rail to rail, surfing it flat to connect dead sections like a log does not work IMHO.

Windy, Clean Big, Small just as long as its not too hollow this board will give absolute lightsaber bottoms turns and the smoothest S-turns ever!
