I just got a set of the solite 5/3 lobster claws. It’s not cold enough to properly tell here yet but they seem really warm and hardly let water in over a 90 min surf.

Remains to be seen how well the seams last of course

Another bump for the electric boot dryer for booties and gloves. Mine has a heat and no heat options. I leave the heat off for surf related items.

I found out at some point in the summer the dehumidifier trick by accident. IE: I typically run this in the summer in my basement and hung the suit down there one summer evening and it was dry the next morning. I now run it in the winter when I need to dry my gear in time for the next day.

I have a cheap waterproof seat cover for the car from Dickies if I absolutely have to drive home with the suit on or make a move to another spot without changing.

Finally graduated/came around to the wetsocks tip to help with the winter boot removal thanks @shadydave

I have one of these, will dry a 5mm suit overnight in a warm room.

Used the solite 5mm mitts a couple of times. Warm and minimal water entry so far.

Must admit, last 15 years I have used these kind of things with a pair of fleece gloves underneath and they are still the best gloves.

As warm as you need since you can decide what gloves to wear underneath and stay light to paddle in as they don’t collect water. They last well too. Only bought the solites as I couldn’t find any of the dry gloves last winter ( when my 5 year old pair broke) but seems like they are back in stock so will probably switch back!

Has anyone tried one of the heated rinse kit shower things? I'm super tempted but it's a lot of scratch for more or less the same experience as filling a jug with very hot water before I leave for my surf.

Didn't someone rig up a fat PVC pipe, insulated, mounted at an angle on a ladder rack over the truck bed? Lot cheaper than the rinse kit.
Which my friend has by the way. He likes it...it's strong...but it's no Commando 450

Seems more useful in summer when the water pressure will help get the sand off. For cold winter conditions the quicker I'm out of my wetsuit and in a heated car the better.

These things are great until they aren't, and they aren't after about 10 uses.

In their defense, customer support was great, but after several busted units it just felt like a waste of plastic and I gave up.
