60/40 fullish to sharp down edges from back 1/3rd to tail, slightly domed deck and slight concave from wp to back 1/3rd, slight single double to a little vee out the back.
Late entry on this thread: 10'0" Gordon & Smith Retro Redfin, the reissue of the classic Hynson Redfin. These kinds of boards really resonate with me for some reason. I just find them to be classy looking and have a majestic sort of ride. This was the board that I tested the Flo-Thru fin on when I got my hands on it a couple of years ago. Great board that has an unreal gas pedal and is a real chariot on a bigger wave (when I still had the balls to ride it on one), although it's a pretty big board for me.
I always thought it would be fun trying one closer to 9'0", so I eventually took a crack at shaping an 8'6" mini version. I don't know if mine still counts as a speed shape, but I'd like to think so. I can't say it's completely the same as the long one (obviously being 1.5' shorter) but does have some similarities in the ride. Wish it had those classy three stringers though!
8’6 Yater speed shape. Got a smoking deal on this one along w a Yater classic & Aipa fin. Opted for the Rainbow 8.5 Yater. All the way forward loosened her right up. Renny magic
