Consensus on the magic size for Vaquero is around 7'2".

What's the magic size for Double Enda?

What's the magic size for Special K?

January is coming...
I vote for 7’6”

I’m sure it would depend on the kind of waves you want to surf it. I’ve ridden the Special K in 7’6”, 8’4” and 8’6” sizes and prefer the shortest one which has a very thin foil. The others are much fuller and feel completely different and more like a high performance long board. The 7’6” really enjoys juicier waves and is basically like an 8’ Serena with the tail chopped off. Very loose and fast. But I find it to be picky with wave quality. Gets trickier to ride when the waves get funky and therefore less versatile than a Vaquero. Also I prefer it backside over all my Andreinis.

Tried my friend’s 9’4 magic Sam again on shoulder high rollers. Got one wave in particular that connected a long long ways. That board really loves the pocket! Almost has me doing some bad financial math. Does the Sam only come in the low 9’ length? Seems like a 10’ would be an ideal cruiser.
Broke this one out over the weekend. At 9.6 with a glassed fin, it’s been a big time fav for many moons, waltzing around in 3/4 time. Always kept in padded protection and pristine as day one. Full stoke every outing.

not too many DE riders that I know of. i think it maybe the loosiest most ballbearingest of marc's models. mines 7-9 and a magical wave tool for me waist to head. think its the shortest they go. foiled out and still a straight up bitch to duckdive. @sonOsea has a bigger one. 8-4ish maybe he'll chime in.

It's 8'3" slip slidy with very light input. I don't have to think about what or where to be on it. It's like it just knows what to do.

It's also a good board to experiment with different fins depending on conditions or mood.

In beach house used rack. Note the thruster set up and length before you decide you have to have it.
