Best midlength for San Diego beach breaks and softer reef waves, Oceanside to Cardiff. If you have a better idea, let me now!

I'd say a wash between a summer Magic and an Egg. Both good choices. Never ridden a Serena, but based on ppl who know Andreini's shapes I believe that is meant to be more of a winter board for bigger conditions. For 2-5' SoCal waves I'd go with a Vaquero.

Weirdly enough, I never got to have my 9'6" Serena out in real serious waves but found it incredibly fun for smaller, softer north OC waves too. That rolled bottom and the right amount of engagement made it a riot in summer waves, paired with a big A-Flex. Pretty sure another Jammer now has it, thing is awesome.

I’ve only found the Serena to be really fun in strong chest and bigger. The vaquero seems to like all conditions from thigh/waist to head+. Vaquero would be my choice for cruising and grooving soft waves.

I had an 8'6 Mitsven Magic and it went better when the waves turned on... didn't consider it a daily driver. Have used a Serena and had the same impression.

An egg would be a perfect daily in typical north county waves you're describing. Or a McVee. Or a Doubla Enda.

I have an order in with Marc now for a couple... McVee for the average days, Serena for the good days. Can't wait.

Let us know what you settle on!
