I personally love them but they are difficult to transport and they’re usually quite heavy which makes the glide fun but a pain to move.

Has anyone had success with them with thruster setups? I tried thruster and quad but they just felt off. So I’ve kept it a single fin since then.

I’ll have to take so pictures. Have a 12’ Andreini va quero. I was told he only made a handful. All poly. I don’t think it’s that heavy. I like big boards and heavy glassing. On a smooth day it’s like riding a classic Cadillac. So smooth and floats down the road. From ankle to just over head. Stupid fun.

Been riding this for 9 months and having a blast.
Single fin, EPS, shockingly light and easy to turn.
Ridden it in knee high lined up beach up to head high point break. It’s a blast in all of it.
    still playing with fins.
    ridden with 10’ pivot,
    9” 4a,
    8” alpha flex,
    next is a 9” stage 6, then a 6.5” skip.

Only thing I’ve found it doesn’t love is too much surface wind chop. Still goes good but gets the feeling of being bounced around like I’ve notice on the original surftech boards.

I like the weight of a poly board when the winds blowing over 13-15.

    It’s a Phillips.
    Jim does some great work.
Told him I was looking for a glider for Pt Judith. A wave he is very familiar with from his time out here. really couldn’t be happier with what he and Andrew guided me towards and created for me.

I've ridden several 11+boards most were single fin. I had a 11' larmo big fish quad. I felt like the quad was fast but the tail felt vague and washed out through turns. Took it to my buddy who zipped off the rears and glassed on a center thruster fin. So much better, way more drive and projection, no perceptible loss in speed. I personally like thrusters though. But let's face it, boards of that size are all aimed at trim and glide, using that stretched out rail line, not turning performance. So in short... Take off way deep, step off onto the sand, enjoy connecting the dots in-between.

Yes that’s basically it. Take off deep and go.

    I have a twin fin long fish that’s 9’8.

cant really turn it but you can haul ass on it and just go Mach 5

12’2 Mitsven Magic Squaretail. This is a single. I’ve got 2 more (11-6 & 11-3 that are glass on tri-fins. Those are super fun when you actually need to turn ... like with people out) This board is an adventure. I’ve had more fun on it in places where I’d least expect it.

Same with me regarding the least expecting it.

Surfed a lot of spots I thought would be boring or not able to surf but a 12’2 can catch anything.

    that’s a beautiful boar
