Are Aussie Style Noseriders Back in Style?

Me too! Had the same conversation with corker at the weekend, he said he’d literally been begging him! Been preferring the lightness and looseness of the yellow one over the dead kooks so far this summer!

Ok I’ll play too. sadly haven’t got any pics of me skating in my teens but I’ve been really enjoying small ramps and curbs over the last couple of years. Partly from Plancktoms influence ( he is a super smooth ripper on transition, don’t let his humbleness fool you!) Anyway, couple of recent...

Are Aussie Style Noseriders Back in Style?

I think it’s a personal preference thing really. I agree that when these boards are noseriding in the pocket the nose is out of the water. That’s why many of them that have concave, it runs quite a long way back but in reality it’s the tail rocker that’s working for you at that point I do...

Are Aussie Style Noseriders Back in Style?

in my experience yes. slightly jealous!! It was Knosts boards that started my curiosity on these piggish shapes originally!

    Cj Nelson Boards.

Because I’m a nerd and I’ve spent a lot of time in the car listening to podcasts recently, I listened to a couple of cj nelson ones at 64 mins in here he talks about noseriding etc. Not exactly sh**ing on the people doing it...

Those parallel railed, wide tailed logs...

I “think” the bottom is concave for about 2/3 then a slight roll then concave again out the back. If you search, I started a thread a couple of years ago called I think “logs with concave bottoms” that has some info about one of my boards and where I saw the idea that predates the cherry picker...

Those parallel railed, wide tailed logs...

Hard to totally make sense explaining but it’s the concave under your back foot as you turn that changes the feel. it’s an interesting board for sure. It’s the only single fin my friend Ashley has ever liked! ( he’s a die hard prog surfer ) and Ben totally rips on it in a traditional sense...

Those parallel railed, wide tailed logs...

I only had a couple of small waves on it so it’s a limited experience. the model t is quite different. The T and to an extent the nausea are roll bottom traditional style and so you can kinda surf them passively just wandering up and down and leaning into turns. The picker feels more like a...

Those parallel railed, wide tailed logs...

I have. it’s a slightly different thing to the osprey and the Michael takayama boards I think. I think it’s best described as a single Fin nose rider designed for Surfers who ride performance longboards if that makes sense. it does noseride insanely well but it’s quite light and the concave...

    Surf Craft Union Surfboard Review

I take it back! It does look fun. CCs performance shapes all work great from what I’ve heard. Cost looks Fine from here. My boards shaper is underpriced and it was the equivalent of $970 with fins.

    Surf Craft Union Surfboard Review

I think the shape called it a rounded squash but essentially it’s the same thing. This was a full custom so I had several phone calls talking the shape over including one after I’d seen the first cut from the machine. Essentially the shaper already had a slightly rounder nosed version. We kept...

    Surf Craft Union Surfboard Review

I think if you go Custom and the shaper understands what you what it should work great. This is the 6’10 x 21.5 x 2.6 I told you i had ordered. Epoxy glassed, full shortboard concaves in the bottom, paddles great but rails are nicely foiled out. It works so well and is definitely on the...
