    Let's talk BAGS

You can sew up a Mexican blanket bag pretty easily - we did that as kids. Sorry I don't have any stock left, but a few years ago we made up a batch of travel-type bags using Mexican blankets in a bunch of colors... that was an adventure in and of itself.

Cities to Surf and raise a family in that are somewhat affordable?

Funny that you mention a boat. Now that my kids are big (son's sending in his masters applications tonight and my daughter finishes her BA next year) that's exactly what we're considering.

Cities to Surf and raise a family in that are somewhat affordable?

Give it a lot of thought. And make sure you and your wife are on the same page. Leaving California is easy - getting back less so. Kids get seriously attached to places and friends, jobs and housing have a way of becoming more permanent, housing seems to always go up back home. A lot of this...

    Looking for a friend

Miss that cat around here. I was going to add something about him always having the purr-fect photo to add to any post, but geez.

    1949/50 Simmons..NEW UPDATES

Thank you for posting the photos and giving the known history. What a neat find. I agree that it "should" be stabilized, from there you can keep as much of the current state as you like. That's the best way to make sure that the story continues for another seventy years at least. And I...

    1949/50 Simmons..NEW UPDATES

Jim would be the guy to see, in my opinion. There are so many ways to approach a special old board including a minimally invasive stabilisation of its condition. If you're not in a hurry, it can be done without losing any of its character or authenticity.

    Surfboard glassing schedule preferences

Pretty much like above. S is well worth it for keepers! I really like epoxy with both pu and eps, and tend to go 6+4/6 or with some of the mid 5oz hybrids on daily drivers. I also lean towards gloss coats, whether polished or wet sanded. Maybe if I had long enough point-and-shoot style...

    Bad "Sellers" List

Agreed, this place is amazing. Considering where I live compared to most everyone... I've had people help me get boards from the East Coast (Thanks Pat!), from SF, from the San Diego Area... and I've loaned a few of my favorite boards to guys who made it over on nothing more than a quick intro...

    FS: Thermalution heated vest, medium

I bought two of these, for myself and my son, and have been really stoked on the performance. With a chest-zip the controller just tucks in nicely, and is easy to reach to cycle on and off. If you've been looking for one, this is a great deal on an item that, while maybe not necessary, made the...

Geez, so tempting. I can't believe that either of these are still with you. Let me see when the next container is heading this way....

    They're still out there

Remember when buying used boards was still fun? Before CL scammers, before the crazy inflated prices, when you could seal a deal over a phone call or an e-mail and it all worked out somehow? Yesterday I stumbled on a Murphy longboard gun in the Desert Island genre. I've always really liked...

    Favorite 60’s

They vary a bit, but great rocker, moderately pinched rails that are really functional, not too much belly so still fast... and of course lighter. I've ridden one in various San Diego conditions and spots, and really liked it!

    Favorite 60’s

The Hansen Superlight is one of the best of the period... My brother's 9'6" is about as nice a riding board in that style as I've ever seen.

    Favorite 60’s

I'm a bit counter-current on this. While I appreciate a nice Hansen Superlight or a Bing Lightweight as much as the next guy or gal, I often find myself then seeking to get as much performance as I can out of the board, which brings me closer to some of my modern boards that are better...

    Glider length?

Your choice makes perfect sense for what you're looking for. Terms like "beach breaks" or "points" can be really relative... where I live, within 200km it's all beachbreaks but those can range from mellow long rides from the outside peaks through the reforms to the beach, to hollow suckers that...
