I’m willing to bet you will feel the “wider and fuller template” aspects of the board much more than the additional four inches.
I probably wouldn’t say that if you were going from a 5’8 to a 6’0, mind you.
This sounds really cool. The trouble is, I'm not sure I have anything to swap out (I'm down to less than a handful of boards now). Is showing up with just a wad of cash considered gauche?
The only wetsuit repair person I know of round these parts is Bob Peck in Eastham (aka "Adventure Diving Services of Cape Cod"). He did a solid job sealing up a separated seam on my 5 mil, for a good price.
That was me, Jim!
I was disappointed, but you and @surfore didn’t hesitate to refund that detail when I pointed it out. I’m beyond stoked with the board overall*, and hope to put away enough in the piggy bank for another Phillips someday.
*Stay tuned for pics /reports in other threads in not...
Hey Scott, I’ve been surfing the Cape on and off all summer. Lots of surfers and other waveriders out there.
It’s a beautiful stretch of coast and you should totally paddle out imo! Maybe just try to avoid surfing all by your lonesome?
I operate under the assumption that GWs are out there...
9'6 Magic Ham Delux ready to travel east.
This will really be my first longboard, amazingly enough. I've managed to make do with other boards within or flirting with the category (an 8'6 and a 9'), but they officially belong to others, even though they live in my garage for various reasons...
Same with surfboards, wetsuits, traction pads, board bags, surf wax, ear plugs, surf watches, wax combs, rash guards, etc. Even, I think, that liquid we put in our cars to get to the beach.
Thanks!
It’s interesting, because with the Vaquero as well so many people seem to end up preferring fins stiffer than the A-Flex, contrary to MA’s own preference (and what he tends to sell it with).
Where do all the A-Flexes go?
I'm told that the 9'6 I ordered from a certain veteran shaper known pretty well round these parts is now at the glass shop.
Let's just keep it at that for now, thank you. :-)
