Really? I taught myself to windsurf but found kiteboarding to have a slower curve for me. Not disagreeing with you, maybe it was just all the gear and setup (as I'm sort of a minimalist) or maybe I should have paid for a lesson. I don't need another expensive addiction...
It was like that surfing in Florence, OR, but like Hog said if they're out the waves usually aren't anything special. They only come out at Pleasure when it's complete crap. I think it's a cool sport, quite a challenge, but agree they should stay away from packs of surfers.
My 9'6" Tudor Nuuhiwa that spiderwebbed all over the bottom. Extant, my 9'6" DanO Old Pleasure, but really lately I mostly ride my 42" Turbo Romero and my DaFin Kicks in preparation for winter bodysurfing.
If the argument is that there wouldn't be so many kooks in non-beginner spots if they didn't have the crutch of leashes I think soft-tops would get them out there. If I had started surfing in SoCal with the option of small waves at beginner-friendly spots maybe I could have worked my way up...

That pretty much nails it, was I off on the belly (convex) aspect? I've seen how they ride for better and worse in tons of vids but I've never been too interested, can't make any claims other than it seems like a good bit of work to ride them as they are intended even in the most...

I'll take a few steps out on the limb of ignorance here, I always thought that "s" rails were what made a hull a hull, but now that I think of it my egg has s rails. I get the whole displacement hulling vs planing thing as far as how it interacts with a wave but what besides s...

Note to self- sell everything you don't need and buy the next comet that you can find for sale...shootz on the right day I wouldapaid 1200+ for that thing!
Right on, for 20k new I'm not expecting too much I usually buy sturdier cars used though so if it feels like a refrigerator box on wheels I may not be into it. Congrats on the Sprinter (and no sales tax?), if that's what I was looking for I wouldn't give the nv a second look. Any conversion plans?

Ich- Could you elaborate a bit more? I can see the allure of the full-sizers but something that big just wouldn't be practical for me. Was size the only issue for you? I'm just more inclined toward the nissans than the fords. Sure there are better options abroad but...
I'm really digging the nissan nv200. Doesn't look like you could fit a 9'6" in the back but I dont mind working the passenger seat into the board storage area, just need something to support them in the rear and it would be pretty much where im at with my passenger setup eurovan. I usually...
