Grew up in Pensacola and spent time in S. Texas with the USCG, I've seen small whales, some pretty big porpoise and plenty of shark but never saw or heard of anything like this. It is pretty wild to think that these guys are hanging out down there.

| Killer whales are the king of the ocean, and have been spotted in all the oceans of the world at some point in time, I think I would be pretty amazed if I saw them in the waters of N.J. though. The nerve of them, feasting on "their" (the fisherman) tuna!

| They'll never bother surfers, in any case. They have a strong dislike for water shallow enough to allow for breaking waves.

orca are classifed into two distinct types by behavior with slight differences in physiology
migrants and residents
residents are particular to coastline and feed on fish and mollusk mostly stick to smaller pod sizes, males and females have smaller dorsals
migrants roam in larger packs are not particular to coastline and travel extensively in search of prey such as large fish, whales, seals sea lions etc these are the ones that exhibit the very elongated and vertical dorsal fins (males)

some swim around pools of water in theme parks with daring trainers on their back and on command jump high out of the water for a mackerel and then falling back in make a huge splash soaking 1000's of tourists annually to the amusement of the masses.
those others are gangsta Orcas.
