Im not familar with versa but I spoke to the owner of surfco that inverted this stuff. He said they have been working on perfecting this stuff for a few years before releasing it. He wanted it to be right and not just another traction thing that may or may not work. All I can say is that it has not let me down at all. You could call surfco and talk to him I think. I will not be putting wax on any boards in the near future.

I like Versa traction but I'm going to try the wax mat on one naked board.

Hey, any more personal experience regarding these wax alternatives??? I'm looking at SURFCO's product called "Wax Mat".

I was thinking about giving it a try on my 9' 6" board, but, $168.00 is a bit steep for something that I may not like. My concerns are: Does it provide enough grip? Does it lose its grip characteristic over time? Do the panel's edges peel back over time? And does it need to be replaced after a year or 2?
