Track top

    looking at a used glider that the owner has dressed out with track top on 3/4 of the board.
    A. what kind of nightmare am i getting into removing the stuff?
    B. could the removal invite delam?
    C. what else do I need to be concerned with(specific to this question)

    What kind of a nightmare depends on how well it was put on and how long ago. I think I know the board you're referring to and it looks like a great find in spite of the work to get the darned traction off.

    If you are remotely careful, I can't imagine it inviting delam.

    I used to simply go slowly with a combination of a single-egde razor blade and adhesive remover. You may slip a time or two and have to rub out a scratch, but other than the time investment it is not a hard job.

    Saw the same board, cuda, and couldn't rationalize the headache for the price. It's the adhesive that's a pain in the ass. Killer board though.

    Good razor blades and adhesive remover is best. Change blades often. A scraper type blade holder makes it a little safer. Let’s see what you got. More curious about what board someone would do this to.

    This is the one I was thinking of, although there's a couple more on CL that are just as heinous. I'm of the notion that this guy had no idea of what he was buying, or else he wouldn't do this to it.

    yeah, that one. nuts for sure. prob did it 1st thing when he got it then paddled out and got laughed out of the water. just a guess

    I was able to take the adhesive off w a pickle (much smaller pad!)
