Anyone use these for their classic weight logs.... not to sure I feel 100 percent comfortable having my cooperfishs stored on them. The racks bow about a inch with the boards on them

Personally if the 2x4's were doubled up so you had 3" of dowel in the wood instead of 1 1/2" I would think it would handle the weight much better. Oh and went all the way to the floor to help support the weight.

I made some similar ones that used 4x4s prob go back to those.... I'm not worried so much about the racks coming down as I am the dowels snapping I doubt they would but hate to come to garage to see my boards on the ground

Yes an untimely dowel movement could be problematic.

1" steel in 4x4 and you'll sleep soundly.

I used schedule 40 PVC..I think 1" for dowels. They sag a bit but hold things just fine.

Sell me the coops and buy a couple smurfteks. Racks will hold up great. Easy solution.

Had a similar set up in which a 1" wooden dowel broke with a couple of boards on it. Replaced with rebar covered with pvc, it will never break.
