MRO87, nice looking left, looks like you are mid cross step. What the hell is that black thing on you knee? You got some tar down that way?
The black thing is a newfangled contraption called a leash. It is something developed on the east coast by one of the guys on the MIT surfing team. Its purpose (remember, its a team sport) is to be able to hold on to your teamates leash while he is paddling to catch a wave, pull on it at the critical moment, and sligshot towards the wave.
Here in PR we use it to look cool and intellectual (people here assume that if you use a leash you went to an ivy league school.
