    MRO87, nice looking left, looks like you are mid cross step. What the hell is that black thing on you knee? You got some tar down that way?:)

    The black thing is a newfangled contraption called a leash. It is something developed on the east coast by one of the guys on the MIT surfing team. Its purpose (remember, its a team sport) is to be able to hold on to your teamates leash while he is paddling to catch a wave, pull on it at the critical moment, and sligshot towards the wave.

    Here in PR we use it to look cool and intellectual (people here assume that if you use a leash you went to an ivy league school. :D
