bought a APE awhile back and am in love with it
It has put the stoke back into stoke I didn’t know was lacking in stoke and put me to adding another edge to the stable
This has in turn led me to hulls...
I’ve ridden a hull or two and liked them
Never owned a hull But am now looking at adding a hull or two to the quiver
Death machine Bee Gee Vaquero. What’s a good board to get started on?
    Any recommendations?

What kind of waves are you surfing and how do you like to surf?
What is it that you like about the APE that you hope to explore with hulls?

I’ve been enjoying my vaquero. Found the gas pedal today and the thing squirted out like a bullet.

I've had a Liddle and a Liddle designs. I liked the lighter glassed OG Liddle better overall.

Hilbers does nice hulls. The other recommendations posted are sound.

    Hullelujah!

Beach break thigh to head I love the speed of the APE, the feel on the wave. and the turn on the rail
The turns ar3 what got me thinking of hull design

The Liddle ID and Baby V are legit along with the Vaquero. The Vaquero being the most condition friendly.
I’m personally in the Liddle camp. Can’t shake the feeling of those rails.
For beach break I’d also consider a Liddle Burrito Deluxe or a Hilbers Gee Bee.
The outline for Burrito is based off of Greenough’s Velo. Hard pivot turns off the tail, fade and trim from the middle, and step forward to hit the gas.

I have a Gee Bee heading my way. It’s a tri plane hull with more rocker than a traditional hull meant for peaky waves.
I can report back once I get it out.

Keep us posted on your hull journey. Still on mine and haven’t looked back.
