Yikes..yeah definitely see the doc..make suure you didnt pinch a nerve...or tear your labrum in your shoulder..
Good luck bro..
Stoked!! A full day of clean waves yesterday from clouds in the morning until a sunny afternoon and evening.
the pacific coast has been crap!!!!!
Fun session at 2nd beach in RI today.
Only one other person out, waist high rollers and cold but sunny.
Just a quick hit during lunch break but it makes the day sooo much better!
show up at the beach mid morning today, drive down it to my favorite sandbar..fun peelers, no one out, not one around...???.....SCORE...pulling the wetsuit out and my phone rings...
"Hey man, did you hear about Nate's shark attack/"
"no..is he all right..when and where did it happen?"
"about an hour ago, down the beach in front of the sign, everybody in the lineup saw it"
"uh, in front of the sign I'm currently parked next to, where I'm getting ready to paddle out?"
"fuk, don't do it man, that's why the lineup is empty. Nate had just paddled back into the lineup after getting a wave, had just sat up on it, when the White slammed into his board, circled back, rammed the board, then swam off, and everybody sprinted to the beach. Nate's ok, his board has a big bite crush in it."
Put the wetsuit back into the Suburban, drive off the beach..in the parking lot see several longboarders already in wetsuits, carrying their boards.
"Hey guys, shark attack earlier, that's why the lineup is empty."
"Yes, we heard a shortboarder got hit, so we're not worried, sharks only hit shortboarders, not longboarders"
and off they went towards the water
wonder if smugness is sharkproof..?
Ok now I have to look up labrum.
Ha..im sorry..almost 40 yrs in surgery.. medicine..orthopeadics..neurosurgery..
Teaching all day...i gotta shift i to home..bro mode..ha..anywho..basically
It's part of your shoulder ..a ball and socket joint..it is like a rubbery(made of fibrocartilage) washer attached to
the rim of the socket..that keeps the ball in place..
Usually if its a little tear..you scar down..it re-attaches as it heals...
The larger ones don't..it can casue pain from impingement..
Thus arthroscopic surgery....plus they might
Via mechanic and radio frequency decompress the acromiom..
Another source paun..impingement..
HOWEVER,..usually a good physical therapist..myofascial deep
Tissue massage..rehab..is the best place to start.
