Roadmaster gets there I’m guessing around 4:30-5:30. He’s there pretty much every single day. Tide was on it at 6 so off to coffee and work. If I round the circle and his car is missing it’s usually not possible to surf. Nobody is more dedicated to our spot. He deserves some good ones.
Yea, I am pretty much there most weekdays about 5am, winter or summer, mostly to beat traffic and get my parking spot. It almost does not matter about the tides, I either wait for the tide or get out at first light. What stops me from going every so often is extremely sloppy conditions. If it is flat to 1 foot, with glassy or offshore winds, I am on it, but if the winds are 25mph onshore sometimes I will pass and sleep in. Today I was there and had a blast, again nobody out, fun small peaks with almost too strong offshore/sideshore winds. Got there at 5am and waited for the tide to drop and paddled out at 8am.
Good timing this morning just after sunrise. Perfect wind and chest/head high sets rolling in. Very fun on the 8'8" Garbutt/Bahne transition shape!
